Everyday Nutrition Guidelines


No matter what level of football you’re playing and how often, when you eat the right foods and the right amounts, you’ll give your body the boost that it needs to perform at its peak.


Eating well every day doesn’t have to be hard. Here are a few simple suggestions:

  • Eat a varied diet to ensure that you have an adequate amount of carbohydrates, fat, protein, vitamins and minerals

  • Eat whole and fresh foods – the fewer additives and preservatives, the better

  • Eat five to seven palm-sized portions of fruit and vegetables per day and eat a rainbow of colours to ensure a good intake of all vitamins and minerals

  • Drink plenty of water throughout the day and limit sugary drinks
